Migration and Medicine in the Late 16th Century: Italian Heterodox Networks in Poland-Lithuania
This talk explores the migration of Italian heterodox physicians to East-Central Europe, focusing on the so-called 'Arian physicians' and their networks in PolandLithuania and Transylvania during the reign of Stephen Bathory. It will also examine the contribution of these nonconformist physicians to the social and intellectual life of Poland-Lithuania, as well as their role in the early history of Socinianism.
