Tasks and Research
Our branch office in Prague started its work in March 2018. Under the direction of Dr Zdeněk Nebřenský, the office promotes academic research on Czech, German and Polish history in a European context. The branch office is a place of communication, cooperation and exchange between German, Czech and Polish historians, but also includes the neighbouring East Central European historical sciences in its mediation work. In particular, it organises academic conferences and lectures and supports publications.
The Prague branch cooperates closely with with a branch of the Collegium Carolinum Munich at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
