E-resource Policy and Terms of Use for Accessing Online Resources
In addition to copyright law, users must adhere to the terms and conditions of the resource providers.
In general, the following applies to digital media licensed or provided by the DHIW library:
- Access to digital media is permitted for employees of the DHIW and library users.
- Library users who are not DHIW employees may only use licensed media on library premises.
- Electronic resources may only be printed or saved for personal use or scholarly purposes. They may not be made publicly accessible (e.g., on social networks).
- Actions that are prohibited include, but are not limited to: for-profit exploitation of library resources; making resources publicly available (e.g., on social networks); systematic downloading of full texts or search results, especially by robots or crawlers.
- In case of misuse, users may be excluded from further access, and and legal action may be taken.

ARTOS is the central database for articles and reviews on Eastern, Central Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.
BazHum (Museum of Polish History) is a continuously updated database with tables of contents from Polish historical and social science journals.
Further offers
GeoPortOst provides access to maps of Eastern and Southeastern Europe that have been published independently. The database synthesizes the maps with their geodata and source context into a system for historical spatial information.
Polish Personal Data Base (Baza osób polskich) with bibliographic information and holdings records from the Berlin State Library.
Polish Biographical Dictionary (Polski Słownik Biograficzny) is published by the Polish Academy of Sciences. The reporting period begins in the 9th century and ends with the year of death in 2000. Also contains articles and media files.
