Home Movies. Niechciane archiwa

On 26 November, the project ‘Home Movies. Niechciane archiwa’ came to a close at the DSH in Warsaw. The GHI Warsaw was involved in the conception and realisation of the project, which focused on German amateur films from occupied Poland. The ethical and methodological problems of dealing with these films, which rarely find their way into public archives, were examined in a series of discussions last year, along with the advantages of this source material. The events in this cycle focused on different aspects, which were discussed by researchers from Poland and Germany. This year, Dariusz Krajewski (DSH), together with director Tomasz Wolski, edited five films from historical material that are freely accessible online and particularly suitable for use in schools and universities. Versions with German and English subtitles are available.

The films were presented at yesterday's event. The project was co-financed by the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation.
