Research Perspective Ukraine at the GHI Warsaw

The German Historical Institute Warsaw under the umbrella of the Max Weber Foundation is now awarding scholarships to support Ukrainian historians who have fled as well as scholars from related disciplines. This funding is intended to enable the continuation of scholarly activities under current conditions.   

In the first phase, funding is provided for three-month research stays at the GHI in Warsaw. The research structure of the institute, the library and office workplaces are available for this purpose. If necessary, language training can be offered. Further perspectives are planned. Support is given in particular to already qualified colleagues. The amount of the stipend is 1.600,-- EUR per month. In addition, supplements for childcare can be paid. The start of the scholarship can be April 1, 2022.     

Informal applications (in Polish, English or German) for the granting of a scholarship should be addressed to the Director of the German Historical Institute Warsaw, Prof. Dr. Miloš Řezník. The application should consist of the following elements:

- Cover letter with information on the desired scholarship period

- CV

- list of publications

- One-page project outline of the research project to be pursued during the term.
