Vilnius branch office of the German Historical Institute Warsaw (est. 2017) promotes historical research on Lithuania within the Central and Eastern European context, with particular emphasis on scholarship regarding Lithuania’s historical ties with Germany and Poland. The office acts as an outreach and coordination center for scholarly communication between Lithuanian and German historians as well as scholars from other countries. In cooperation with national academic institutions, the branch office in Vilnius organizes academic events and prepares scholarly publications.
