Jewish Cultural Heritage DFG-Priority Program 2357
The priority program, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), aims at scholars of different disciplines who research Jewish cultural heritage in Europe. The staff and leaders of the 11 projects in total, which conduct research on Jewish Cultural Heritage issues and are based in countries ranging from the USA to Germany, Israel and Poland, have one large overall meeting per year, which is attended by all of the approximately 50 members.
The annual meeting in June 2024 take place in the POLIN Museum , the Jewish Historical Institute and the German Historical Institute Warsaw.
One of the goals is to make the scholars of the project, including a large number of PhD students more familiar with the history, culture and heritage of Polish Jews. Likewise, we want to familiarize the members of the priority program with the localities of Jewish Warsaw and give them the opportunity to get in touch with Polish scholars. In addition, the research of the Priority Program should also be made known in Poland.
